What do you love most about Venice?

"It's such a unique, one-off place to visit. Is there any other city on earth like it? Just sitting back on a gondola or boat and meandering through all of Venice's architecture and people is amazing!"

If you can...

"If you have the budget, sit and have a coffee in St Mark's Square. Yes it's expensive , but this is the hub of Venice. It has all its main "must sees" and is a great people watching spot! "

A 'MUST' whilst you're there?

"Walk and get lost amongst all the alleyways & bridges, at every turn there is a stunning piece of "Venice life" to be seen. And of course, cruise up & down the Grand Canal or take a gondola ride."

Favourite time of year to visit Venice

"Go between September and March. Venice is a lot quieter then as all the cruise ship tourists have gone home, this means you will see more of the true local "Venice life"."

A great way to see more of the city...

"If you're not already on a tour with flights but still arriving by air, you can take a boat from the dock at Marco Polo Airport on the mainland. This is well worth it as it gives you your first sightseeing tour through all of Venice's canals!"

@travellustlarry's Top Tips

"Take a walk or gondola away from the main tourist sites of the Grand Canal. You will be away from the masses and discover some stunning hidden gems that aren't in the tourist books!"

"Let me show you!"

What are your favourite places in Tuscany?

"If you visit Tuscany then you must go to Florence. It is the capital of Tuscany and the birthplace of the Renaissance! It is home to many famous art pieces and museums, as well as iconic architecture!"

Another must-visit?

"Then of course there’s the Leaning Tower of Pisa. While it’s a tourist hotspot, it’s well worth the hype! You really only need a few hours here so I’d recommend taking a day trip or tour from Florence."

A favourite place fo yours?

"Siena! It’s, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful and idyllic towns in Tuscany. While it’s not a huge city, it still offers just as much as Florence and has a quaint vibe."

What is your favourite thing to do in Tuscany?

"Go wine tasting, duh! When you think of wine, vineyards, and rolling hills, you probably think of Tuscany, right? And for good reason!"

A 'MUST' whilst you're there?

"You can’t go to Italy without eating gelato! But remember, avoid buying from places that have mounds of brightly coloured gelato… instead get some from a metal or covered container!"

Another must whilst you're there?

"Lastly, I simply enjoy strolling along the streets and admiring the beautiful architecture, history, and culture!"

"Being a massive LOTR fan, I was in my element. If you are in Antigua, definitely check out this spot! The views are unbelievable and you get to geek out for a few hours."

A 'MUST' whilst you're there?

"There are lots of activities to do there, such as archery, axe throwing, machete throwing, a bungee rope swing and crazy golf! All while exploring the various viewpoints and hobbit holes."

What do you love most about Hobbitenango?

"Apart from the obvious LOTR spots and activities, the views are quite simply stunning. If you get lucky like we did, you can see Acetenango and an erupting Fuego."

@callander_shaun's Top Tips

"It can get quite busy so it is best to go in the morning. If it's not already included in your tour, you can book directly through Hobbitenango's office in Antigua, as we did, or make your own way there by Uber/taxi."

Is Hobbitenango worth visiting?

"It definitely is! It's a short 30-minute drive and you can choose a time slot to come back. There are a lot of fun activities and a beautiful area to explore. Your Guatemalan Shire experience awaits..."
